Enjoy Life's Moments

Hello ...............

What a horrible day here in the UK yesterday was!  It was so damp and miserable I thought I might have to put some heating on in the house, hard to believe that a couple of weeks ago we had a heatwave.........

Onto my card,

This card originaly started out with just the card base and my balloon but the sentiment was not straight so i thought I would add the stitched rectangle to hide that mistake, and then guess what I stamped onto the rectangle and it was smudged!!!!! I nearly gave up and binned it but then cut out the little banner and stamped my sentiment onto that.

I cut my balloon out of a snippet of some water coloured card that I made using Brushos and I had a little left that I was going to put in the bin until I saw the challenge over at Less is More which this week is to use snippets.
I used a glitter pen to highlight the balloon before mounting onto foam pads.  The sentiment is an old Kaiser craft stamp.

I am entering this card into the following challenge

and as I have used snippets on my card I am entering this into the current challenge over at

Christmas Card Challenge 34

Hello and welcome to a new challenge at Christmas Card Challenge.

This week is a nice and easy anything goes.

I have used a clear stamp from Penny Black jolly friends set.  I stamped my image onto watercolour  card and used Distress inks to colour.
A little glamour dust was added to the tree, and then I outlined the image in blue.
The sentiment is from LOTV and I have heat embossed in silver.

Do pop over to the blog and see what the rest of the DT have created.

Thank You

Good evening..........

I have a card to share with you using a stamp set from Stampin Up, I used this last week on a technique class and really love how versatile the stamp and the background stamp are.

I have also used my Brusho's that I purchased a while ago and have not had much time to practice or play with them, but I was determined to have a go at Kyle's technique using starch which you can find HERE under her video tutorials.
These little pots of powder are great but very messy!!! (note to self to cover desk better)

For my card I stamped my flower with versamark ink onto my dry card and then heat embossed in white before cutting it out.
I stamped the background using memento Summer Sky ink and then popped the flower onto my card using some foam pads.
I added a little blue flower to the inside of my card.

beside the seaside

This weeks challenge at Less is More is Life's a beach,

For my card I used a digi image from Pink petticoat and coloured with pencils.
It was nearly a one layer card but I decided to put the middle beach hut on some foam pads!

The sentiment is part of the collection

Christmas Card Challenge 33

Good morning - well those two weeks certainly went by quick, doesn't seem five minuets since the last DT post!!

Its time for a new challenge at Christmas Card Challenges and this week we have a photo challenge for you.

This is my take on the photo
I have used a digi image from Funky Kits called warm winter wishes, I just love these 2 adorable little penguins snuggled together in the scarf and I used it lots last year and I think I will be using it again this Christmas.

I coloured the image in Promarkers and added some glamour dust to the hat before fussy cutting out.
I added a snow drift from a spellbinders scalloped borders die and gave them a bit of the glamour dust treatment also.
The sentiment is from a Lili of the Valley Christmas set.
I popped the image up with some foam pads.

Stampin up

A couple of months ago I attended a Stampin Up craft class run by the lovely Joanne in Northampton, and fell in love with the products  so much so that I decided to become a demonstrator!!
I ordered my starter kit and still have a huge wish list that I am working through, but the plus side is that if anyone is interested in Stampin Up products you can order them via me. Just email me and I can add to my own order.

One of my favourite stamp sets is "You've got this" it is so versatile as the 3 cards featured below show.

I made these cards at my recent craft day using the product listed at the bottom of the post.

this card is so simple and just uses the background stamp and the flower no colouring involved what so ever.

On this card we heat embossed in vellum and coloured using an ink pad and blender pen before fussy cutting out.

Hibiscus

Good Morning.......... Hope you have all had a great week end.

Today I have a card to share using a hibiscus die from memory box that I have had for ages and not used until now!
I was inspired by a card made by the very talented Loll which you can see here on her blog,

I created the yellow background with some distress inks and a brush from Inkylicious and then die cut with a stitched square.
I created the orange card by dabbing some distress inks onto my craft mat and spraying with water before placing my water colour card on top, when dry I die cut the hibiscus twice, and used some of the lighter shades to cut the stamen. The leaves are die cut from a large die and then I cut them up to create some foliage for my flower.
I tried out Lolls technique for adding dimension and then used some foam pads to mount onto my card.
I stamped the sentiment in versa mark and then heat embossed in yellow.
I added some gold sequins for a bit of bling!

Catch up

Hello to you all, I apologise for not being around much over the last month but we had our 2 weeks summer holiday at the end of June when we went to jersey.  We decided to take our touring caravan and the dog, and had a fantastic time.

Millie having a whale of a time on the beach.

We only had a week at home before shooting off to Belgium last week for a WW1 battle field tour of Flanders.  My husband loves to visit these historical sites and last Thursday 9th of July was the 30,000th last post at the menin gate in Ypres, which was such a moving and thought provoking occasion.

Took this picture at the place where the famous poem in Flanders Fields was wrote.

This was the moment that they released the poppies from above the Menin Gate such a moving moment.

Enough of my rambling and I will be back tomorrow with a card.

Creative Moments Challenge

Good morning to you all and welcome to a new challenge at Creative Moments.

When this post goes live I will be in Belgium doing a very quick battle field tour with my husband, we will be home on Friday ferry permitting!!!

The new challenge for this fortnight is Monochrome.

As I have a few weddings this summer I thought I would make a CAS wedding card.
I have used a Digi image that was free in a magazine a few years ago and is one of my favourites.
I printed it onto white linen card from Paper mill Direct and then die cut with a stitched square.
The back ground paper is from Pink Petticoat.
The sentiment is computer generated and I have used a die from a blueprint set for the banner.
i added some glamour dust and pearls to finish off.

Christmas Card Challenge week 31

Hello and welcome to a new challenge over at Christmas Card Challenges.

Hope you have all been enjoying this lovely hot weather, I certainly have although it is not good for crafting as my craft room gets so hot and I have to draw the blinds to keep the sun out and then there is not enough daylight!!

Anyway onto the challenge

This week we have a colour challenge for you, and we would love you to create a card using these colours.

I have used some stamps from inkylicious for this card, first stamping the buildings in black ink and then used a light grey Promarker to colour the sky.  I was going to use an ink pad and sponge but I could not find the right colour grey. Think it gives it a snowy look.
I then stamped my reindeer in black ink.  The sparkle trail is a stamp from the same set which i masked off some of it and then stamped in versamark before heat embossing in clear powder.

I have also gone over the buildings in clear Wink of Stella but you can not see it very well in the picture.

Happy Little Stamper Christmas Challenge July

I am sooooooooo excited this is the very first Happy Little Stamper Christmas Challenge, and I am so proud to be part of the DT.

Each month on the 5th, there will be a new Christmas Challenge and a word for you to use on your projects.

here are  the rules for all the challenges

1. Your creation MUST be Christmas related. You MUST use the word we provide on your project.
2. Link back to your blog post and not your entire blog
3. Provide a link to HLS in your blog post
4. You may enter as many times as you like but each entry must be different
5. You may enter as many other challenges as you like
6. Have fun!

To make the card for my tree I started by putting some distress inks onto my craft mat and spritzing with some shimmer spray, before pressing some watercolour card into the inks then allowed to dry before stamping a tree using a stamp from Clearly Besotted Merry Little Christmas set, and die cutting it out. I created the frame using a square die from spellbinders.
I went over all the lines in a glitter pen but it is not showing up in the picture which is a shame because it give the tree a lovely shimmer.
The sentiment is from a LOTV set and I have heat embossed in silver.

There rest of the DT have some wonderful creations to inspire, and you can find the link HERE
