Celebrate Spring

This week the theme over at The Paper Players is Celebrate Spring.

Nothing reminds me more of spring then daffodils, I always have them in the house they are so cheap to buy and so cheerful if the days are still dark and gloomy.

They also remind me of my childhood when we would be given a small bunch from Sunday school to take home for our mums on Mothering Sunday.

I have been having a little play around with watercolouring, trying to improve my technique!!
I have used a new stamp set from Clearly Besotted 'You are Wonderful'.
I stamped onto watercolour card and used Distress inks to colour in the flowers and leaves. adding a wash of antique linen to the background.
I added a little bit of string around the stems.
I created a frame for the front of my card using two stitched rectangle dies.

  2. Love the way your beautiful daffodils are framed! Great background wash too (I'm not very good at those!).

  3. Gail I am a big fan of daffodils too - my favourite spring bloom! Lovely watercolouring and the addition of the string bow is a nice touch. Thanks for joining us over at The Paper Players this week!
