Catch up

Hello to you all, I apologise for not being around much over the last month but we had our 2 weeks summer holiday at the end of June when we went to jersey.  We decided to take our touring caravan and the dog, and had a fantastic time.

Millie having a whale of a time on the beach.

We only had a week at home before shooting off to Belgium last week for a WW1 battle field tour of Flanders.  My husband loves to visit these historical sites and last Thursday 9th of July was the 30,000th last post at the menin gate in Ypres, which was such a moving and thought provoking occasion.

Took this picture at the place where the famous poem in Flanders Fields was wrote.

This was the moment that they released the poppies from above the Menin Gate such a moving moment.

Enough of my rambling and I will be back tomorrow with a card.

  1. Hi Gail, thanks for your visit & sweet comment. Just scheduled a post, where I will be giving a shoutout to your blog, and hope lots of my followers will look you up. I enjoyed the pictures of your vacation. That field of poppies was awesome, and I can imagine the feelings that visiting such hallowed place would have invoke. So glad that you had a lovely time...it's always such a joy to see pictures of places I will never visit, but only read about. TFS & have a grand week.
