Distress ink lifting

Hello .............

I have made it back to blog land!  and will hopefully catch up with you all over the next few days.

We decided to have a week away in the caravan (last min) so we went off to Sandringham in Norfolk for a week.  We had a great time even though the weather was a little cold, we managed to get lots of walks with our dog Millie, who loves running around on the beach, and we even managed fish & chips sitting on a bench in the sunshine.

I only took a few craft supplies with me and I did not have my laptop because my son was in the process of cleaning it up.  While away I decided to have a go at Jenifer Mcguire's Distress ink lifting technique which is available HERE

For this first card I used a stamp from Clearly Besotted winter blooms.  I stamped the image in versa mark ink and then heat embossed in white.  I used chipped saphire distress ink to cover the whole card panel (2.5 inch by 5 1/2 inch), then added water as per the video.  I loved playing about with this technique although it does use quiet a bit of ink !!

For this card I embossed some lines to form a rectangle in the centre of my card, cut the panel down and adhered to the centre, the sentiment is from Crazy about you stamp set.

For my second card I used You've got this stamp set and again used some white embossing powder,  this was actually my first panel that I created!  the inking is not so good (need practise)
I created a little frame for this card using two stitched rectangle dies, and then adhered with some foam pads.

I did try this technique using some ink pads from stampin up but you don't get such a good effect.

I am adding this into the

  2. Two beautiful cards using this awesome technique Gail! Great job. Love the saturated colour of the backgrounds, and the lifting gives your blooms so much visual dimension with the different colours. Thanks so much for sharing with us as CAS Mix Up! xx
